Best time for harvesting
There is a harvesting period of 12 to 26 days from May 1st to June 20th every year in the production area of aweto in Sanjiangyuan. The team of expert will precisely predict the best time for the first harvest with weather condition compared with that of previous years.
Reserved under vacuum and freezing condition
The cordycepic acid, adenosine, amino acid and microelement as well as activity and available nutrients of the aweto can be reserved by application of international advanced cryogenic vacuum freeze drying technology. Through this technology, the retention rate of effective constituent of aweto can reach 98% or above.
Harvest quality standards
Complete shape with upper part to be the stroma and the lower part to be the dead larva; the larva is golden yellow while the eye part is brownish red; the length of the dead larva is above 4 cm and diameter is above 0.5cm without any damage or mildew spot on the surface; 20~30 rings on the back and 8 pairs of feet in the abdomen part, among which 4 pairs are visible in the middle part; the section part of the body is white and full and the centerline is the residue of digestive tract; you can see 6-30μ bristle on the epidermis via observation by microscope and the wall of the body is thick with obvious intrusion by hypha. There are residues of angular visceral in the middle part; one stroma, seldom 2~3.It grows from the head part of the host with length > 7 cm. This length is the most prominent feature for a high quality aweto for the first harvest; the diameter of the stroma root is > 2.5mm and becomes thinner towards the upper part; the head part is brown and almost in the shape of round column. It is full at the beginning but hollow in the later period; you can see that the perithecium grows near the surface while the root is slightly embedded into the stroma in shape of oval or egg via observation by microscope, 380-550μ* 140-240μ; two asco-spores with several diaphragms, 160-470μ * 5-6.5μ.
